    SBESC will be hosting a workshop about Energy Upgrade California conducted entirely in Spanish on this Tuesday, January 31 at the Hawthorne Memorial Center.   A copy of the presentation in English will be available as a handout.  Additional workshops will be conducted in Spanish for our other programs and partnerships, and will be held quarterly.  Check our calendar regularly for all of our workshops, and help us pass the word along to Spanish speaking friends and neighbors!

Speakers Bureau

We have speakers available to make presentations explaining our programs and services to your service club, community group, business group, home owner association or other group.  Please call us at 310-371-7222 to make the necessary arrangements.  Here is some information on two of our speakers.

Jacki Bacharach
Jacki has her own business - Jacki Bacharach and Associates - which specializes in government and transportation policy and administration.  Her principal contract is with the South Bay Cities Council of Governments, a joint powers authority of 16 cities in the southwest portion of Los Angeles County, where she serves as the Executive Director.  Her duties have included grant administration - including oversight for a former successful energy efficiency grant program, South Bay Energy Rewards.  Jacki is the current Executive Director of the SBCCOG's grant program - South Bay Environmental Services Center.

Marilyn Lyon
Marilyn is the Program Manager for the South Bay Environmental Services Center. She served as Councilmember for Rancho Palos Verdes from 1993-2001 and served as Mayor in 1996 and 2001. Marilyn also serves as Governor Schwarzenegger's appointee to the California Architects Board.

Grace Farwell-Granger
Grace is an Environmental Services Analyst with the South Bay Environmental Services Center and works directly with Marilyn Lyon providing energy efficiency programs to residents, businesses, and public agencies in the South Bay.  Grace holds two Masters Degrees from the University of Southern California, one in Public Administration and the other in Gerontology.  She has over 25 years experience in government grant-funded programs and has worked in the field of aging, in a variety of capacities.
