The Week of Monday, November 21

Posted by Kathie on Nov 20, 2011 under

Thanksgiving is only a few days away!   You still have time to visit your local Farmer's Market and opt for foods that are produced locally for your Thanksgiving table this week.   On Tuesday, visit one in Manhattan Beach or Old Torrance, and on Wednesday you can visit Farmers Markets in Gardena or Lawndale.  By purchasing from a local vendor, you're not only getting fresher food but you are reducing your family's carbon footprint by eliminating the energy used to truck food in from faraway places, as well as the need for packing materials - which is not only very cool but a very good reason to give thanks.  Click here for a list of all the Certified Farmers Markets in Southern California.   Happy Thanksgiving!
