Description: This workshop will guide participants step by step through an example of how to retrofit a municipal building and outline the advantages of doing so. It will also cover the energy audit and benchmarking process, energy and water conservation measures, types of systems to be retrofitted, and renewable energy opportunities (including thermal storage). Finally, this workshop will address the financial impacts of each step in the process and the finance tools available for implementing the desired energy/water conservation measures. Case studies will be reviewed showing best practices that should be implemented. Architect Lance Collins of Greenside and Engineer Tony Liu of Partner Energy will jointly teach this workshop. Breakfast and Lunch will be served. Who should attend: Public works professionals, facility management, and other environmentally oriented staff.
