  • The Week of Monday, January 30

SBESC will be hosting a workshop about Energy Upgrade California conducted entirely in Spanish on this Tuesday, January 31 at the Hawthorne Memorial Center.   A copy of the presentation in English will be available as a handout.  Additional workshops will be conducted in Spanish for our other programs and partnerships, and will be held quarterly.  Check our calendar regularly for all of our workshops, and help us pass the word along to Spanish speaking friends and neighbors!

For the week of Monday, September 7:

Posted by Troy on Sep 07, 2009 under

Room by room: How can you make your kitchen and laundry energy and water efficient? If your refrigerator is old, replace it with an ENERGY STAR qualified model and get $50 from SCE and free pickup. Replace your 10 years old or older clothes washer with ENERGY STAR qualified models and get a $35 rebate from The Gas Company. New high-efficiency washers can use less than half the water of older inefficient models (use full loads!) Rebates are also available on ENERGY STAR dishwashers (ditto full loads.) CFL's work great in the kitchen, too. Finally, install water aerators at the sink. Next week: Bathrooms and bedrooms.
