Description : Hosted by the City of Rancho Palos Verdes and Los Serenos de Point Vicente, this FREE outdoor festival celebrates the Pacific gray whales’
annual migration from their summer feeding grounds in the frigid waters of the Bering and Chuchki Seas of Alaska to the breeding and calving
grounds in the warm lagoons of Baja California. This year’s exciting event offers fun and educational opportunities for everyone!
Visit the beautiful Point Vicente Interpretive Center and bring your kids so they can enjoy crafts, face painting, games, chalk drawing, and
entertainment. Take a tour of the Point Vicente Lighthouse, courtesy of the United States Coast Guard (must be 7 years and older). Past
participants have included Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, Las Candalistas, George F Canyon Nature Center, Whale Watch, Marine Mammal Care
Center, Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, American Cetacean Society, and other local organizations. See the rescued hawks and other
raptors from South Bay Wildlife Rehab. Dine on delicious fare from local vendors. Tap your feet to the sounds of the San Pedro High School
marching band and listen to old sea chanteys performed by Geoff Agism. Relax and enjoy cliff-side whale watching, and browse the wares of local
artisans and vendors.
Parking will be located at RPV City Hall/Civic Center, 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard and shuttle service to and from the event will be provided.
