Which Projects Are Eligible?
Each home’s needs are unique, so a variety of upgrades are available. Select what’s best for you and your home.

Basic Upgrade Package
The following measures must be performed for all Basic upgrade projects. Homes that have already completed one of the basic package measures before the retrofit do not qualify for the Basic Package rebate of up to $2,000:

•  Air sealing - one of the most cost-effective ways to save energy
•  Attic insulation - keeps the house cool in the summer in warm in the winter
•  Duct sealing - Leaky ducts can lose over 20% of conditioned air
•  Hot water pipe insulation - saves energy and helps conserve water
•  Thermostatic shut-off valve - A handy device that attaches to your existing shower.
It shuts of the shower once the cold water turns warm, saving hot water until you are
    ready to enter the shower.
•  Recommended:  Low-flow showerhead
•  Combustion Safety Test -  MUST be done by a BPI certified contractor.  Ensures that
all your gas appliances are venting correctly with no gas or carbon monoxide leaks.

Advanced Upgrade Package

Get up to $4,500 in incentives when you achieve a verified reduction in your home’s energy consumption through a professional home energy assessment.  The more energy you save, the higher your rebate.

In addition to installing any Basic upgrade measures that are not already present in the pre-retrofit home, your participating contractor can help you decide what additional Advanced Package improvements can be made on your home, such as radiant barriers, heating and cooling systems, and new windows, and more.

Enhanced Options
In addition to the core elements in the Basic and Advanced Packages, you could also add green building and landscape options, such as eco-friendly building materials, solar panels and water-efficient landscaping.

Once you have decided to make your home energy efficient with a Basic or Advanced Package, you can consider adding Enhanced Options to their Energy Upgrade California project to further conserve natural resources and reduce greenhouse gases.  While these options are not eligible for Energy Upgrade California incentives, there may be additional rebates and incentives available! Ask your Participating Contractor. These environmentally responsible options will put you well on your way to a Green Rated Home.

•  Recycled content insulation
•  Water-efficient landscaping
•  Solar panels

To discuss the program with an eligible contractor go to the Find a Contraction section of the website.

Note:
Monthly bill reduction assumes average usage and conditions. Actual savings may vary.

Energy savings will be based on a comparison of the home's existing energy efficiency and the energy efficiency following completion of the Energy Upgrade California Advanced Packege project.

The Energy Upgrade California program is offered on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is expended or the program is terminated, whichever occurs first.

Program participation will be available to Southern California Edison (SCE) and Southern California Gas customers only. If you live within LADWP, Burbank, Long Beach, Pasadena, or Glendale territory, rebate amount may differ. Pre and post inspections may be required to qualify for the incentives. Participation is limited to one incentive payment per household. Incentive checks will be mailed four to six weeks after program completion.

This SCE and SoCalGas program is funded by California utility ratepayers and administered by SCE and SoCalGas under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.
